Visiting Croatia

Croatia is one destination that will make you ask yourself, “why haven’t I visited this place before?” It’s surrounded by thousands of islands and such a warm and vibrant culture, so you can always find something new to see and explore. While the coastline offers lots to do, getting out on the open seas and exploring is a truly life changing experience.

When I booked my yacht charter adventure on the high seas in Croatia, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting myself into. But from the looks of the things I saw online and heard from a few of my friends that had visited, I was really in for a treat.

Visiting Croatia

I landed at Split Airport and made a direct route to the sea to board the yacht and get my adventure underway. The ride to the ship was a true adventure in itself, the villages that we passed through were so very cool and really seemed surreal to think that I was finally here .

Visiting Croatia

Once we boarded the ship, it was off and running. The area around Split offers many small islands to visit and explore, so we had to check them out. We started with the island of Hvar, followed by the island of Vis and finally the island of Brac. Each island was unique in itself and offered a different vibe that varied from the other. The beaches that we landed on, were to absolutely die for. They had beautiful shorelines, gorgeous people and plenty of sunshine to go around. Most of the islands had bicycle rentals, so to explore the cities, we hopped on them and ventured into the hearts of the towns. With lots of local music that seemed to be at every busy street corner it was a truly inspring visit. The shops around the area offered items unique to Croatia and the culture that seemed to be everywhere you turned. The people were extremely laid back and happy to help if you had questions about navigating from place to place or deciding on a place to go and grab a bite to eat. The islands had many little cafes that made stopping for a quick bite or grabbing a quick coffee effortless and enjoyable.

We also found lots of water sports activities that we could participate in. Parasailing was my personal favorite and provided a birds eye view of the area and really put into perspective how vast the area is and how beautiful the deep blue seas really are from an arial perspective.

For the most part, we had extremely smooth sailing a we ventured from island to island and explored everything about the area. The Croatian people were so kind to us during our visit and really made the trip wonderful. From their kindness in the streets to the deckhands on the yacht, we felt like we had lived in the area all of our lives. From the time we landed until the time we left, we knew we had to come back for another visit and experience other parts of destination.
