MAT is usually held in the months of February, May, September, and December. Registrations for the MAT Exam September have started and would continue till 22nd August. MAT would be conducted on 6th and 12th September in both paper based and online format. As there are only few weeks to go for MAT, aspirants should gear themselves up. Here are some tips and guidelines for improving your MAT result 2015.

Understand the MAT Syllabus in Depth

Before you start your preparations, understand the MAT syllabus. MAT exam paper is divided into 5 major sections-mathematical skills, language comprehension, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and Indian and Global environment. Each section has 40 questions and there are total of 200 questions in the MAT exam paper.

Tackle Each and Every Section

If you want to crack MAT, it is important that you score well in each section. If you focus more on one section and ignore others, it may affect your overall percentile. It is therefore essential that you focus on each and every section. The quantitative ability section would test your basic math so clear your basics. The Data Interpretation section consists of graphs and charts and the questions are based on finding percentage increase or decrease. You can practise from previous year papers to get an idea about the type of questions that are being asked in this particular section of MAT.

Verbal ability section is primarily comprehension. If you are able to understand the passage you can answer 4-5 questions based on that. To score high in this section, improve your reading, vocabulary, and basic English words and their meaning. Read newspapers, magazines, and books to enjoy good hold over English language.

Practice Mock Tests

Preparation for any entrance exam, including MAT is incomplete without practising mock tests. Mock tests are similar in pattern to the main exam. With mock test you can be aware about the type of questions that you would be facing in the main examination. You would get to know what would be the level of difficulty and the kind of questions that would be asked in the main paper. You can get a fair idea about the amount of time that you take to solve a particular section. Time is a crucial factor on which your MAT result depends. With mock test you can learn time management and can improve your MAT scores and results.
