The G.O.S.P.E.L.

God created us to be with him.
Our sin separated us from God.
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
Everyone who trusts in him alone has eternal life.
Life that's eternal means we will be with Jesus forever.

What do you think about this? Truth, lie, or "Right Wing Jibberish"?

Johnny Cash...

It maybe that I'm pushing 40 or that I'm finally getting a taste for a little Johnny. I remember hearing Johnny Cash on my Dad's record player when I was a kid. It sounded like really bad country music (twangy and hillbilly). But have you heard from him in the last couple of years? It really doesn't sound that bad..kinda' like Americana or something like that. My favorites now are "Hurt" - a cover from Nine Inch Nails, "Personal Jesus", "When the ...

Car Batteries....

We've had a couple of days of really cold weather around here lately. And you know with cold weather comes car batteries failing. It never fails. It seems that those cold winter nights hit them real hard, especially if they are on thier last leg....like mine. Our '99 Explorer has been acting funny lately. Take for instance...my wife and I stopped at a local food place to get something to eat through the drive through (redundant, huh.). We got our food and decided to just eat our food in the ...

My iPod...

You know, I really like my iPod. Before I got one, I didn't want to be another "sellout" to Apple's huge media takeover of all things in portable music. Now, I do have a Mac at home, but to go and get one of those "media-hyped" things, that just wasn't for me. But you know...I love my iPod. I have the 2GB Nano with a cool black leather, hard case. And now, I've fallen into the iTunes world of Podcasts. Aren't those things too cool. I mean...I'm now in control of what I hear and where I hear ...

Had dinner tonight at McDonalds after basketball practice with my oldest son. He's 5 and wide-eyed about life. We talked over chicken nuggets, fries, and cokes. Good stuff. We joked about talking in Spanish. Seems he's learning it in Kindergarten now. I recognized some words he said, but I think he made up the others. Didn't matter though, he seemed to know what he was talking about. And get this...he dunked his chicken nuggest in ketchup. Yummy. When's the last time you've had dinner with y ...

DaBears in da rain...

You know, the game last night was pretty predictible to me. Here you have two quarterbacks, one an "All American Boy" who has always come short of the "BIG RING", and the "Unsure-about-himself-newbie" who makes mistakes and has to rely on his team's defense to pull wins out of a hat. I did get a little excited though after the opening kick-off touchdown, I have to admit that. But after two interceptions (and one for a touchdown, mind you), I knew it would end up the way it did. I know that C ...

The strangest thing...I've had this constant hum in my left ear. It started a couple of days ago. Actually, when it started in would go all day until I went to bed. When I woke up, it wasn't doing it. Today it didn't do it all day, except it started again this evening. Has this ever happened to do you before? It doesn't hurt - just this constant hum and only when I'm not talking. Crazy. Better go to the doctor, I guess. ...

The job interview...

Had a great job interview today. Everything seemed to click. He liked me and my designs. I liked where he was going in the interview. Have you ever had one of those interviews when you're thinking, "Hey, I might just get this job." Then...he gets to the end and mentions how much they are willing to spend on this position. Ha. You want to say, "yea, right." Way too low. How can that happen? Oh, well. A man has to feed his family. Maybe next time. Or....maybe they'll come back and offer me mor ...

Bedtime with my kids...

If you have children, you know the ritual of bedtime. It can be short and sweet or long and drawn out. Take tonight for instance. The books are read. The covers are on (barely). And the eyes are beginning to close. All of a sudden...laughter. You know that simple yet disturbing noise. All is lost. Can I get control back? Is this a bad dream? Well, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Soon they will be too old to read to, tuck-in, and watch fall asleep. I want to savor these days. They are short ...
