Every year in September there is the international film festival also known as the "Mostra del Cinema". During this period the Lido di Venezia become the centre of attention.

Every day there are newspaper articles, advertisements, provocations, gossip, rumors about which stars have arrived. A lot of cinema lovers and ardent fans meet outside Palazzo del Cinema during the day or in the night in the hope of getting an autograph or taking a photo of their idol.

REMAKE OF WIZARD OF OZ

The much-loved musical will be re-made to celebrate the film's 70th anniversary.

Warner Brothers have snapped up the project and are set to spend a whopping £20 million on the new version, set for release in 2009.

It looks as though, as of July 20th, "Goya's Ghosts" has been released in the U.S. but only in limited areas. Matt sends word that it's in San Francisco, so keep a look out for it in smaller, independent theaters if you want to see it.

I have my ideas about what makes a good gaffer. I have worked with some great ones and have worked with some bad ones. I strive to make myself a great gaffer and to improve on every shoot. I read AC religiously.

I think that a great gaffer needs to develop a great eye and be very good in dealing with people, on and off the set.

Because I work with a different out of town DP almost every time I work, I am curious about what DPs on this list believe are the ideal quali ...
